September 4, 200619 yr does this car have to be towed on a flat bed trailer or can it be towed with a tow dolly with the front wheels up?
September 4, 200619 yr if you have to push a button to engage the 4wd than you can tow it with just the front wheels up on a dolly... otherwise it's AWD and needs a flatbed, or the rear drive train disabled (which I think you can do by jumping some wires)... --Spiffy
September 4, 200619 yr If I were you, I would tow it flatbed. I wouldn't want to take chances with the most expensive part of my car - pushbutton 4WD or not.
September 4, 200619 yr As long as the 5-speed is not FT4WD/AWD then dolly trailering is OK. Automatics are different. No wiring to "disable" rear drive for towing... have to pull driveshaft or axle shafts to do that.
September 4, 200619 yr No wiring to "disable" rear drive for towing... have to pull driveshaft or axle shafts to do that. weird, I thought I saw soemthing on the ex-in-laws Loyale years ago that had something about disabling AWD with a jumper... never had to do it though... there's was also an automatic... ... anyways... I've had my 5spd push-button 4wd turbo wagon towed a few times with the wheels rolling... --Spiffy
