November 7, 200322 yr Hi all, Can you replace the duty solenoid c without removing the tranny tail housing? I am getting a code 24 with is the solenoid. Tomorrow I am going to get under the car & check the solenoid. I would like to know so I can buy the gasket while at the dealer getting the solenoid. Thanks.
November 9, 200322 yr nope, you have to remove the rear extension housing to get at the duty c solenoid. Make sure you test the wiring to the solenoid to make sure that's not the problem. What symptoms are you having, other then light being on & that code stored.
November 9, 200322 yr Author Josh, Bad torque bind. Installing the fuse helps a little but when I check the duty solenoid I get a open. From what I can find that will put the AWD into 50/50 regardless of the fuse. I have already checked tires & changed all the fluids. Anything I might have overlooked? Thanks.
November 9, 200322 yr I guess check the wiring to the sensor, if all looks good, you could try testing the sensor......other then that.....not really sure....other then the sensor being bad.
November 9, 200322 yr Author I will check fro continuity from TCU harness to the soenoid if I can find the connector at the tranny. Also, is there anyway to know if the clutch packs are bad while I have the extension housing off?
November 9, 200322 yr I'm sure there is a way to look at the clutch packs and tell. I'm not exactly sure what they should look like new/used, etc.
