PCV routing? EA82T

Featured Replies

Yeah, I know, another question. Anyways, on a stock EA82T, how is the PCV system routed again? I've looked in my Chiltons manual and its all babbling about it and the diagram isn't very clear. Its one of the problems I'm working on fixing right now. Remember, I'm using a SPFI shortblock so no PCV port in the top of the block, just the valvecovers and PCV valve...

The p/s valve cover goes into the intake boot in its own spot. Then the d/s valve cover, crankcase breather and pcv valve get teed into the other hole on the intake.

So, like how mine was setup when I got it was the exact same, except no crankcase breather (same as you, no breather cuz its an SPFI block).

ok so I'm figuring that the turbo goes in between where 3 connects into the intake hose and where 13 connects. Am I right? If so, then I got it all figured out! Driver side valvecover and PCV valve connect into the intake after the turbo and the passenger side valvecover connects into the intake before the turbo.

Everything goes BEFORE the turbo. You don't want to put boost pressure into the PCV lines. That will put pressure into your crankcase...

The PCV valve closes when the manifold pressure goes positive. Running the extra hose from the intake and t ing it with the PCV valve makes no sence, I know it's stock, but all the V8's go from intake to right valve cover, left valve cover to PCV valve to intake. It should be a suck through system, not a suck by sytstem. Remember, the intake manifold still goes negative under decel on a turbo car. Otherwise, the brake booster would be pointless.
