September 19, 200619 yr fluid dipstick? I can't find it anywhere near where the owner's manual says it should be. Thx for any guidance.
September 19, 200619 yr passenger side near firewall, down low....maybe blocked by some wires in the way.
September 19, 200619 yr It's on the passenger side, underneath the airbox. Definitely not the easiest thing to get to.
September 19, 200619 yr I always have to trace it down and move a big wire loom on my 99 Forester. You have to hold the loom out of the way and pull the stick on my car. Since I only do it once a year or so it has not been worth moving the loom.
September 19, 200619 yr There is a thread on scoobymods as well... but you don't need to login to see these pics: http://www.northursalia.com/modifications/drivetrain/tfluid/tfluid.html Don't need to remove all that stuff to check the level or change the fluid. But it does make changing it easier.
September 20, 200619 yr Author thx Nickb! those pics are what I needed. Wow, that dipstick must really be buried, cuz I was probing all around last night with a flashlight and still couldn't find it. But with the pics showing its location, I hope to have better luck.
