where is the fuel pump in a 93 subaru impreza 1.8 ltr

Featured Replies

I have the Chilton's Manual, it shows an exterior fuel pump and that is what the auto parts store gave me, but I can not locate it. I told them 1.8 liter fuel injected 2WD, and I'm stumped. A buddy and I were working on this car for a few hours yesterday with no luck. We need this car fixed soon so any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks!

Gonna take a wild guess and say that it's in the trunk, under a panel near the back seat.

Not gonna take a wild guess.... It's not external. It's in the tank. Are you sure you're looking at impreza parts and manuals and not Loyale? Everything thing Legacy and Impreza has the pump mounted in the tank. You do however access it through a panel under the rear set, on the passanger's side.

That's Chitlons for ya. I've got the same book, and in many cases it does not list the procedure for the ej18. If it says 1.8L, it's probably talking about the ea82. I know for a fact that the pump is internal on the Impreza. Look under Impreza 2.2 in the book. The procedure should be the same. Go back to the parts store and specify that you need the pump for a '93 IMPREZA. Don't say 1.8, as they all were in that year.
