October 4, 200619 yr Will I hurt anything by running my heater controls vacuum directly to a manifold nozzle? It originally had some gizmos in between but all the hoses got all mucked up... This is an 87 gl wagon, with an EA81 transplanted in.
October 4, 200619 yr i dont know if it will work.. it needs the little accumulator canister at least. thats basically just a chamber to build up a decent volume of air at vacuum pressure to operate your controls.. like a capacitor
October 4, 200619 yr Author I tried it and they work fine and quickly without it... I was worried that maybe there would be too much vacuum

It can only reach an equal force of 14.7 psi, but as an inward force rather than an outward force. The only thing I would be worried about is if your car was a turbo model, in that case, you could probably route the lines to the brake booster past the one-way valve so you'll almost always have vacuum.
