My '95 OBW came with a B&M short shifter, uninstalled. I've been trying to put it in, but for the life of me, I can't get the old one to simply "pop out" like all the install guides say it should! I've tried all sorts of things, from pulling it towards the ground on the knob end, and just lifting straight up, and it won't come. Is there some kind of trick?

i tried installing a kartboy in my 96 impreza....and i came to conclusion that my shifter wasnt meant to come out

 

 

 

i ended up bashing the little white things that keep it squeezed in there...then i went to put the kartboy in and realized tha kartboy's ball was smaller in diameter than my stock one...so i had to go and buy new shifter linkage from an RS to put inplace of my stock one
