Thanks for all your suggestions and support, I posted this, not to ask questions or solicit suggestions, it was meerly to vocalize a dilema that I find myself in. The new car thing has seemed to subsided for the moment at home, I'm not going to push it, but if I see the Subaru is coming out with a two door, you can bet that I will bring it up again.

A two door hatch would be acceptable,

 

Honda makes a few two door civic hatches....
