I was told my subaru has had a headgasket change before by the stealership. But I dont think so... Also can you carfax my supra as well the lady I got it from said the engine has been replaced but can't confirm that. Will these show up on a car fax? more or less a carfax will tell you if the car has been involved in any accident. it wont tell you if a dealership worked on it or if the motor was changed.

 

and if the car was new enough it would tell you what state it came from. and by new enough i mean 90s. they started collecting the records for the carfax in the 90s.

when i got a carfax on my 87, it told me it came from chicago.

and some have better records then others.

If the shortblock has been out the VIN won't match the block where they stamp a VIN number on it.

 

If the engine is an EJ25 DOHC chances are real good its had head gaskets replaced.
