Also can you carfax my supra as well the lady I got it from said the engine has been replaced but can't confirm that. Will these show up on a car fax? mellow65 Posted December 2, 2006 Share Posted December 2, 2006 more or less a carfax will tell you if the car has been involved in any accident. it wont tell you if a dealership worked on it or if the motor was changed. and if the car was new enough it would tell you what state it came from. and by new enough i mean 90s. they started collecting the records for the carfax in the 90s. ShawnW Posted December 2, 2006 Share Posted December 2, 2006 If the shortblock has been out the VIN won't match the block where they stamp a VIN number on it.
