December 5, 200619 yr I have a 1993 Impreza FWD that is making some funny noises at high speeds in 5th gear, it goes away by putting forward pressure on the shifter. So it seems it may just be touching something that makes it buzz. I know how much the tranny mount made a difference in my Legacy so I would like to look into replacing this one, also. Does the FWD Impreza have the same transmission mount as the AWD BC/GC cars? I took a look and they seem to be similar.

Probably not, but the threaded bolts holes will be there to mount the AWD tranny. My car had AWD but when I put in the JDM drive train, the transmission mounts were different, but the threaded bolts hole were there for the JDM tranny.
December 6, 200619 yr I know for sure there is a difference between AWD & FWD tranny mounts. I don't recall if the AT & MT FWD mounts are the same. I'll check when I get home. If they are, I have brand new FWD AT tranny mount I bought to use in my Legacy, but never put it in before I swapped to AWD.
