I'd really like a factory service manual set for my 2000 OBS, but I really don't want to spend $200 to get one. I have considered downloading everything from Subaru online, but they have them broken down so small it would take all weekend to download them all. So I'm back to the original question...are the manuals on CD worth having, and if they are copies of a Haynes or Chilton manual then I don't want them. Opinions please. I'd buy the OE Subaru service manuals either on CD or in print. I picked up a print set on eBay, but that was before I knew I could have gotten it on CD. A completely acceptable alternative is to just get an alldatadiy subscription. It gives you access to OE material at much less up front cash outlay. If you're not going to be getting into any involved work, the haynes/chilton will probably work. I've seen too many errors in them to trust them for important work though. And while the Subaru manuals are no doubt the best I hate to part with $200 to get them. I bought a complete set for my 90 Legacy for $105. I may have to buy OEM but I'm hoping to do a little better than $200. And I have factory service manuals for all my cars except the 2000m OBS. 84 Mustang GT 89 Mustang GT 90 F150 90 Legacy 2000 Hyundai Accent I haven't see factory manuals on CD...or if I did I didn't know it. DerFahrer Posted December 9, 2006 Share Posted December 9, 2006 Yeah, those eBay one suck. Nearly impossible to read. Get the original FSM's slowly. What are you trying to work on right now? porcupine73 Posted December 9, 2006 Share Posted December 9, 2006 Hi Richard, wow that's a sweet line up of cars. Yes, I found out you can get the FSM's on CD on techinfo.subaru.com. I believe it is about $200. I have reviewed the alldatadiy.com info and it is identical everywhere I have looked to the FSM including the pictures and descriptions (for '00OBW).
