EA swap questions

Featured Replies

my 81 carb needs parts i dont have. would i be able to put the nicly tuned 79 carb on the 81 engine? would i need to swap the intake? and the 81 keeps exploding front axle boots??? and does anyone have radiators?!?!

I believe that the carbs are different between the 79 and the 81, not 100 on that though.

Which boots specifically are "exploding"

Sorry, no help on the radiator, but any EA-81 radiator should work, so that opens you up to quite a few more options.

i know they are different but i was wondering if it would run with the swap. front passenger side boot keeps exploding and the drivers side slips off. and the ea81 radaitor may have a leak in it:mad:

Do you have a pic of the carb? Better yet a pic of what you need?

I have a Hitachi parts carb lying around, I may have what you need.

well i dont have a camera at the moment. but i need that deal that connects to a pump and a butterfly valve in the carb. it is usally a round shape and it had a coil type spring in it. it connects right next to the air intake port on the carb. do ya know what im talkin about? well mine is busted and just hangin there.

I think I know, I'll check the carb and see if it's there.... I'll let you know tomorrow, it's across town right now.
