Does anyone know if the STI key plate is compatiable with a 2000 outback. (for know it's the closest I'll get to feeling like I'm behind the wheel of a 300hp WRX, besides it looks really nice.)

I don't see why it wouldn't be, I think all soobs use the same key blank.

Not sure what your looking at but I was told than some sold on EBay are made of a metal that can't be cut at most locksmiths.

 

I guess it can be done, but not as easy as taking it to the local hardware store.

yea, bought one for my 00 rs and the local locksmith wrecked it, and said " oops" pretty much, so that sucks

any subaru dealer can cut this key for you

 

and if you want a genuine one...

they're only $18ish...
