what is easier, pull the engine and tranny, or drop just the tranny?

I'd probably say just drop the tranny. You could probably pull the engine and tranny as one piece, but don't bother unless you're going to some engine work as well.

yeah all you have to do is drop the tranny and put the d/r into the car. You can use the shift linkage from the s/r IIRC.

i did a d/r tranny swap pretty recently. with 2 guys, it was still quite a job. the hardest parts were the shifter linkage (getting it to seat properly, and putting the pivot bolt in.) and also positioning the tranny onto the motor.

 

if you have 2 guys, its not extremely hard, but if you are doing it yourself, GL

oh my dad used to be a mechanic in the navy. he usually finds some hairball way to make it fit on. we'll see how it goes
