Help... leaking oil again...

Featured Replies

I KNOW it's the rear main. I just know it.

Like my old GL, it leaks right where the trans and engine meet...

But, how can I be sure its the rear main, I am getting good oil pressure... and it doesnt seem to leak THAT much.

I dont want to drive it the 1,000 mile trip to Washington to have it blow up on the 5 or anything :-\

As long as the crankcase ventilation system is in good shape, I doubt there will ever be a point when crankcase pressure gets high enough to 'blow out' the seal.

Lets play "the what car is it? " game.

If it's the Z28???

If it's an EJ25 might be the oil separator plate.

If it's a bad or non-OEM PCV valve ??

if it"s=-> ah fergetabout it

Sorry haven't taken my meds yet today.

Sorry!

It's an '86 GL, SPFI EA82.

Nothing seems plugged up or anything, I checked all of the PCV hoses and also replaced the valve...

(ouch, ej25, no thanks)
