2.2 into a 1.8 93 Impreza????

Featured Replies

Does someone have the details on putting a 2.2 engine (with the square engine harness ECU plugs, off the side of the engine) into a 1.8 engine car (round ECU connectors at the back of the engine)?

I just picked up a 93 Impreza, but the end of the crank is worn and the keyway is shot, from the wrong torque on the bolt and the damper moving all around.

I have a 93 2.2 that I could drop in and take care of the wiring.

I also have a 1.8 that needs head gaskets.

Thanks, Larry

just use the 2.2 long block and the 1.8 everything else, ie intake, sensors, wiring, it all bolts up. and it as easy at that.

Cool, that's what I'd was thinking but I was not sure.
