Seat Release Knob broken - now what?

Featured Replies

Howdy,

I have an '02 Outback Impreza Sport, and one of the seat release knobs in the back appears to be sheared off. (I have no idea how, but I did recently help a friend move, so that's my guess).

Now my seat is in the upright position and I'd like to be able to release it and use it both ways. Any ideas on how to fix this? (Do I go in under the seat, from the top... ?). Any suggestions gratefully accepted!

Thanks!

They unscrew I believe. If you can get ahold of it with a pliers, just unscrew it. If not, you will have to go in through the back of the seat and unscrew what is left. Your local junk yard should have the part. I would think any Subaru with folding seats (wagon) would do.
