April 15, 200718 yr i thought it was comeing from the top hose but its not. i got a puddle of antifreeze under the intake laying on the top of the motor on the right side. it's running down the front and getting the timing cover wet. where could it be coming from.
April 15, 200718 yr THere's two coolant temp sensors under the intake on the passenger side. One of them could have sprung a leak. Sop up what's on the block, then watch to see where the coolant is coming out.
April 15, 200718 yr Author its possable the sensor could be leaking because i changed it a while back. but i just wanted to know, is their any kind of seal or gasket that could be leaking.
April 20, 200718 yr Author on the front top of the engine under the alt. and next to where it says ej22 their is some kind of sensor. it looks wet around and at the wire connection. what is this part.
April 21, 200718 yr Author i think i may have figured out my problem. i put the top rad hose on the other day and i still had the puddle. i just found out it is oil not coolant. so i think i had 2 leaks. after fixing the hose and still seeing wetness i assumed it was coolant. the sensor below the alt is the oil pressure sensor and i think it's leaking. it is possable for it to break and leak out the top right? do i have to remove the alt to change it and is it a part most auto stores have in stock.
April 21, 200718 yr Not sure if auto parts stores carry that, but it is most likely 1/8" BSPT (british standard pipe tapered thread), so you could plug it temporarily if needed. If the sensor isn't snapped off it might just need to be resealed.
