Hi All

 

Is it possible to put OEM roof rails on my 2003 Impreza.

 

Is there trim that need to be changed (i'm thinking the black strip that trims out the roof line,

 

How exactly to the go attach.

 

any thoughts, i've never looked closely at how they were attached

I'm guessing you're going to have to drill some hole for the OEM rack... the mounts may already be under the headliner already, pull it down a bit, and see if there's any extra bracing where the rack would bolt down.

The rails will bolt on but you'll have to remove the headliner. There are some write-ups on how to do it.

you should definitely post your trim for sale or swap with a WRX guy. Many people want to remove their racks and have the smooth look. Look on nasioc.com. You can likely get the rails and trim for free in trade.
