May 11, 200718 yr Maybe 60-70 amps? I think I remember a few posts where people fit other similar alternators in. I think one was some GM alternator and another was like an '04 or greater Subaru 90 amp.

Searching some online auto parts, looks like 90 MY 2.2 rebuilts are mainly 70amps, and can be had between $70 and $90. Might what to research whether the 110/130 amp altenators used in the Legacy/Outback 2.5 2005+ MY might work.
May 11, 200718 yr Author Sweet thanks. I'd heard of the GM upgrades for the older EA81 models, but hadn't heard much for the 2.2, I'll try looking around and seeing what I can do.
May 11, 200718 yr Yah I think the Subaru '05+ was the upgrade I saw...wow I didn't know they were 110+ amps that's cool. I think I saw it on another board, but can't remember the name. The admin I think is Peaty and it's Subaru Mods or something like that...

The admin I think is Peaty and it's Subaru Mods or something like that... Still pretty tame as to what you'll find in some GM/Ford/Honda/Toyota poducts. There's even a 200amp altenator for the Ford Focus (an option for the upscale performance package of the Focus I assume).
