ellets Posted May 21, 2007 Share Posted May 21, 2007 Does anyone know if there is any difference in the oil pan on a 88gl d/r and a 88dl pushbutton 4x4? I am trying to put engine out of dl into gl. Something is interfering. I am somewhat disabled at the moment so it is hard manuver things. Need this car so any help greatly appreciated. Gloyale Posted May 21, 2007 Share Posted May 21, 2007 It helps to support the trans from underneath with a jack or blocks. Raise it up an inch or so off the crossmember. There is also a little thin plate that covers the bottom of the bell housing area(I guess for inspecting Flywheel teeth?) but anyway that cover is a PITA sometimes too, bend it downward to make sure it will clear the bottom of the trans bellhousing.
