September 8, 200718 yr Author I thought you said that anything over 10 volts on the coil is bad. Its at aroud 13.40 or something. Almost battery voltage.
September 8, 200718 yr Wellll...it depends. Some systems do need a external resistor in the path to limit the current. Since the previous coil burned up I was thinking your system needed a resistor. After you tested the new coil and it felt cool it appears your system is designed to handle the full battery voltage. So you are good to go. Hopefully the ignition will be trouble free for a lot of years.
