Hey i am kinda new to the sooby thing. I just had a question about a term being used in the motor swap threads. What is a Dizzy? I have a 87 gl with the ea82 carbed and i am looking at doing some performance upgrads.

I bought this car for $500 and plan on making it a full blow rally race car no street driving except between stages. I am not new however to offroad racing. I haveraced an off road Ford Ranger for a long time. I am howerver newer to rally. I just sold my wrx, i have rally Xed it and i am now in love with rallying. I went to the presscott rally in presscott Az, and now have been bit by the sooby rally bug.

I have been reading on this forum about the motor swaps but have not desided witch way to go. I got a er27 for free from a friend who was going to use it in a sandrail project but changed his mind. I have also thought about a N/A ej series motor. But i dont know about the avalibility of parts to build a higher power N/A motor here in phoenix az. If anyone would like to give me sugestion i am all ears. I love to hear other peoples opitions. Also, once agin if someone could tell me what a dizzy is that would be great.

If a swap is what you are after, EJ is definitely the way to go. Even in a subaru-dry place like AZ, EJ parts will be 100 times more plentiful than ER27 parts.
