Forester fog lights

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a 2000 Forester and find the driving/fog lights in the bumper are not effective, My previous car was a Volvo with Bosch Fog lights that did a nice job of ligjhting up the sides of the road. Does anyone know the make and model of the OEM lights. Has anyone replaced them and what did you use that fits in the stock hole?

Thanks

roy, I agree with you 100% those fog lights aren't worth the trouble to even turn on. I don't know of any lights that will fit the stock hole in the bumper. I guess you could coble some other lights in there, but it wouldn't be too easy.

My 2002 Forester has plastic grilles covering the front of the fog lights. I removed these, and this helps a bit.

But overall, these fog lights are next to useless.

If you could find a brighter bulb I'm not too convinced it would make the light any better. While a good bulb is important it won't do squat if the lens & reflector are junk. IMHO the Forester fogs are more car jewelry than anything else.

I feel the same way about the fogs on my Ouback- are they similar to the ones on the Forester (or the same)? I was hoping they'd be more useful. If anyone finds a good retrofit/replacement solution please share!

I chose to forget about the factory fog lamps being useful at all. I'm installing a push bar (as soon as I decide which one- what style) and strapping some aftermarket lamps to it.

Dash away the hopes
