pulled glove box on 85 brat to replace speaker. discovered 1" X 1" box with severed white wire located underneath dash (next to glove box door latch) what is this and do i need to re-connect? thanks

Is it bare metal? If it is its the door dinger.

apporx. 1 inch wide and long, may 5/8 inch tall. the wire feeding into it looks sizeable - guessing #10 or 12. when you remove glove box, it is on the underside of the dash, just to the right of the lcenter latch. i know it is a factory installation.

Its the door dinger box. Its really not a big deal at all, unless you want it to work.
