I just bought a nice GL-10. It's only got 47,000 miles on it, and much of the engine has been been rebuilt with new parts because it was sitting in a garage for a long time. It drives great, but it handles really poorly - sluggish steering and awful corners. I want to turn this thing into a monster sleeper car, and I'm not sure where to start. The only thing wrong with it is the air suspension - a hose is ripped. I could replace it, but I would much rather redo the whole suspension so the thing handles like it's on rails! But yeah, mainly I want to mod the suspension, beef up the brakes, get wider tires and rims, and do what I can to get as much horsepower out of the engine as possible! Are there any resources out there as far as websites, or people that have modded the GL-10? Can anyone help me out? Thanks a lot!

I'd be switching out the air ride suspension... that's normally junk from what I've seen and read... do a search for suberdave's GL wagon... that thing is a vision!!

as far as suspension. the only options for the stock struts are some cheep coilovers from Ebay. or to find stuff to swap out the suspension for XT6 suspension. then you have 5X100 wheels, and Impreza / Legacy struts, this opens up a whole line fo options.

 

for that engine. many people have fixed them up and gotten some good #'s as far as horsepower. but they always have head gasket problems.

 

for that if you want to get lots of horsepower you have many swap options. from the EJ line of cars... 2.0 Turbo 2.2L 2.2L Turbo 2.5L 2.5L Turbo...
