My Impreza needs struts and I want to lift it a little bit. I saw AndyJo's project with the Forester struts to gain a couple of inches and want to go that way.

 

KYB has many, many different models. How can I tell which will work on my 98 Impreza? It looks like I can go through an ebay store and save 20-25% over what the other online parts stores are charging.

Hi. Yes KYB has many different struts. The general advice is you go with struts from the same MY but from the higher vehicle. Confidence is increased if the strut model spans multiple model years and your model year is well within the band.

 

One big difference between Legacy/Outback and Impreza springs (for U.S. anyway) is the diameter of the spring tops.

Aha! That's good to know. I'd better stick with Forester struts, then.

 

I wish KYB published specs for their struts so I could figure it out for myself.
