I have an old EA81 tranny that I removed the tail end from.

I need to know if anyone has ever taken the rear output shaft casing apart.

I have the two casing pieces disconnected and they will separate but there is something catching to prevent them from coming apart all the way.

I have a bunch of transmission diagrams I'll have to see if any are EA-81, I assume fromn output shaft it's 4WD are you talking about the transfercase at the back of the trans axel itself or the shaft housing at the back of that?
