I just replaced the bearing on the left rear of my 81 Brat, and I'm having the same problem I had before it was replaced, that being a shimmy that feels like the rear wheel is loose. It doesn't do it if you coast, only if power is applied. I re-tightened the axel nut, and I got about five miles before the problem returned. Anybody have experience with this? The Brat has about 265 thousand miles on it. Thanks.

October 11, 200718 yr Nope. Your shimmy sound very much like bad front axle joints. How do they look. Are the boots torn and no grease left? Hope this helps.
