P0301 1997 outback 215580 miles

Featured Replies

Ok so I have a CEL on my car rite now. Its a 1997 2.5 dohc outback w/ 215580+ miles on it. The Code reads out as P0301. I just had a "tune up" done. So the sparkplugs should be ok. I am thinking it might be the wires, coils or fuel injectors.

Also to note about a year and half ago I i had a CEL come on and was told it was because of a bad cat. They turned it off no problems till now.

I am going to get my oil changed at Van Bortel in 2 weeks (its only $17 I though why not) Should i have them look at it?

Ok now you tell me what you would do.

Hi. In this recent tuneup, were NGK plugs and OEM spark plug wires used? That era soob sometimes doesn't like other plugs or wires too well and will startup with the P0301 to P0304 (cylinder misfire #1 to #4) codes.

my parents had this service done this past summer at a subaru dealership, so i would hope so.

Update: The CEL went off. Should I just keep it in the back of my mind or still look into getting it "fixed".
