Changing Dash lights

Featured Replies

ALright guys, I'm tired of the lame yellow dash lights and I'm going to switch to a diff color..

Guess my main question is are hte dash lights the same bulbs as the reading lights that are above the rear view mirrow?

And also, I've never pulled my dash apart. How complicated is it? And is it something that I can do in a few hours?

A response will be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

IN my 80 i was able to remove my gage cluster in the parking lot of a pull it yard in about 10 min. there are a few screws around the dash trim once you have the dash trim off there should be 4 screws holding cluster in. remove those then should be loose. The speedo cable and wire harness will be attached , eather pull on cluster till you pull enough out to un hook said attachments or go under the dashand reach to find back of gage cluster and unhook that way. There is enough slack to pull out when you just grab cluster. Then remove bulb, i think that the bulb is clear and dash backing is the color , it was that way for my roo. Hope this helps:headbang: Sean
