has anyone ever tried to fix the rust around the subframe where the mustache bar connects? I know it is a common place on roo's and I know a car that needs that exact repair. It is a near perfect ea81 other than that and some other cosmetic rust.

cosmetic? sandpaper and spray paint

Remove loose rust, scale and treat with, "Rust-mort" seal with paint or I used Pro-15 along the under side seam welds where it got crinked from poor jack placement... got that ino from other members and so far has done great... stop that rust.. I am a believer.
