head gaskets

Featured Replies

I am getting ready to do a HG job and wanted to know what you thought about ERISTIC mulitlayered steel gaskets. Anyone have any experience with them? I have used the Subie gaskets before, but I have a line on a set of the eristic ones and have been told they are built to OEM specs or better.

Just looking for some advice before I get too far into it.

Sorry: this is on a 2.5 DOHC motor.

NASIOC guys do a lot of performance and engine modifications. i bet they have some good reviews and responses to this. i would check there. they do all sorts of head swaps, block swaps, piston swaps, etc.

i know other manufacturers came out with head gasket replacements....for the same kind of issues...in the 90's that were multilayered metal in nature as well. not that it means anything, just stating what i've seen.

I like the subaru gaskets myself for a stock 2.5 dohc phase 1 engine. If it's a performance build, some of the multi layer stuff is nice. Cometic is a nice head gasket. But for a regular old blown head gasket ej25 phase one I stick with the subaru gaskets. I get them for $45 each, I do lots of them, never had one come back, can't beat that.
