February 10, 200818 yr screw, this was covered back on post #18 but reading the old thread (linked to in #20), there may be more going on here than meets the eye. Yeah, I think the 2 threads should be merged. Same car, same problem still. SO, NewDriverOldride, do you still have no CEL light? That is the VERY first thing to solve. NO CEL= NO power to ECU. Does the Horn work???? Check fuse #5 This has been suggested before, please answer this before going any further.
February 10, 200818 yr One other note about the CEL light. It should turn on when the ignition is first turned on to test the warning lights. If it doesn't, then something is wrong.
February 15, 200818 yr Author EVERYTHING IS FIXED!!!! The optical sensor INSIDE the dist. was bad. rather than buy a new dist, and considering there are no JY around here, it turns out he had a dist from an older nissan where he took that optical sensor and it worked! cool huh!? now on the next note, I just gotta figure out why my wiper motor dont work....hmmmmmmm
February 15, 200818 yr Thanks for the feedback. For the wiper motor problem I assume you have checked your fuses already. I would check for voltage getting to the motor next.
February 16, 200818 yr Author yea i fixed the wiper motor, alls i did was jiggle the blades a few times, unplug the connector and take the motor apart and back together lol, works tho:banana:

This is A big revalation that could be helpful alot itn the future. What type of Nissan Distributor did you scavange from??? I would love to submit that as a tip to the USRM
