Hi This is Jerry, well i went to my work place today and got my 2.2 with the carb all put back together oh crap i forgot the gas can. So i go back home on the way my hatch mis 1 time thats odd less than 1 mile later it dies. So i coast to the side and start checking things yes getting gas so check the spark zip no spark. Whats the odds of having another dissy in your car thats the good news i had one. Yes i pulled the dissy and put the other one in timing must be real close fired up and away i went. I love these little EA81 cars some people call them tinker toy cars because they are so simple. Thanks Jerry:banana: :headbang:

Glad to hear you're back on the road. Was it the Hitachi Distributor? I'll bet you a beer it was the ignition module. Easy to replace and the odds are that any module you get at the junkyard will work. If you can't find one, let me know; I'll mail you one.

well thats just another reson to keep on driving them :) to bad when the disty on my 80 wagon fell apart i had to push it home it was only a few blocks but could have been bad if i was on the free way. good to hear it was an easy fix though.

You spoke volumes of what I like about these cars, the possible: diagnostic and possible "along the shoulder repair" when one has parts on hand, may not always happen but try that with a newer car...:-p

Of course with your experience Jerry... I would expect nothing less! Now if you had to create a rudeamentry lathe and fabricate a part from a scrap of road side metal... that would be a challenge!
