you know what im talkin about. all of the subarus i have seen have them. its a black wire going from one of the terminals on the coil, to ground, and theres a little metal cylinder. what the heck is that. someting to resist radio signals?

that is the noise suppressor coil for the radio. it keeps coil signals from passing thru the antenna.

 

one end goes to +coi;l, and the other end grounds to body.

its not necessart to be there for the car to run, just radio noise(if u might have it)
