I ordered an axle from Advanced Auto and it really does not look like the right part... i looked on rock auto and the part number is the same as advanced..

 

so what do you guys do... replace the CV boot or axle? and where do you get both?

I bought two complete replacements from these people on ebay. Have not installed yet but they look OK

For my 79 BRAT, I bought both front axles from Rock Auto and installed both the same day that I got them. They worked perfectly. You are supposed to use new spring pins according to the manual, but I have never used new ones, and never had a problem.
