Looking for Subaru mechanics in Los Angeles area

Featured Replies

I've been driving a 97 Outback for the last 2 years and haven't found a mechanic that I really feel comfortable with.

I've been going to local dealers (Culver City, Big Valley), but have been put off by their salesmanlike approach to service (ie, padding the estimate with every repair they can think of).

Ideally I'd like to find a reputable independent mechanic that specializes in Subarus, but that seems a lot harder to come by in LA than in a place with more Subaru owners like Seattle or Denver.

Any suggestions from the Southern California members?

But when I needed a mechanic in south Baltimore area last fall while working back east here's what I did.

Looked in the phone book for a foriegn car auto parts store that listed Subaru parts. Called them and asked who of their customers had the best rep.

I got a recommendation to a really good responsive and cheap shop that had me up and running with no problems and the fix was good.
