1986 GL Turbo almost fixed...

Featured Replies

So, for my senior culminating project here in Washington state, I decided to do like a restoration on my EA82T. I did headgaskets, turbo gaskets, intake gaskets, exhaust gaskets, etc.

Well, its all starting to come together....what a pain in the rump roast by the way, I did it all while the block was still in the car....

Anyways, I had a problem before. The tail lights wouldn't go off. They had a mind of their own, they would turn on/off and stuff without the car being on. I would have to unhook the battery everywhere I went.

Any ideas on a fix?

check the switch on top of the steering column, sounds like you bumped it.

Easy fix:cool:

Yes that switch effects the tail lights. It turns them on, along with the parklights

Brake light switch at brake pedal? I had this happen to a Toyota I owned.

No, 86 does not have that switch. 85,86 there was only the hazard switch up there.

He may have something else going on.

Probably the brake light switch. It may just need adjusted
