meddler
I went to order a clutch kit for my 98 Legacy Outback (2.5, 180,000 miles) and was informed that two different kits exist for the 98, depending on the month it was manufactured. The problem is, the sticker on my driver's side door pillar that is should tell me this is gone. One kit was $160 and the other was $220 (they both contained pressure plate, clutch, and throwout bearing) so there's an obvious difference here. Anyone got any ideas or information on what the difference is? Or maybe I'm just missing the sticker...
Reveeen
A dealer can give you the date from the serial number, and not the one on the title, or dash, the firewall. I'm not too sure if kicking that cat is a good idea though....... the plate is missing for a reason.
meddler
I called the dealer with the VIN - the car was made in May. Thanks.
