June 3, 200817 yr Doing rear brake conversion on my Brat.... while I have it apart should I regrease and put new seals on or am I wasteing time and money for a warm fuzzy feeling that it has new grease and seals?
June 3, 200817 yr Doing rear brake conversion on my Brat.... while I have it apart should I regrease and put new seals on or am I wasteing time and money for a warm fuzzy feeling that it has new grease and seals?Since you already have it apart, it only makes sense to put in new grease and seals. Otherwise, I would agree with it being a waste of time.
June 5, 200817 yr Just did this like 3 weeks ago on my 84 Brat. Everything looked fine after I got the drums off. So I saw no need to do that. Slapped the discs on and down the road I went:popcorn: .
June 5, 200817 yr At least clean up the seals and look for cracks or rot. If the grease is dark, clean it up and re-grease with high temp grease. It's easier to do now then a few days later if it starts to stick or bind.
June 5, 200817 yr I'll second that, the least you can do and only sensible. At least clean up the seals and look for cracks or rot. If the grease is dark, clean it up and re-grease with high temp grease. It's easier to do now then a few days later if it starts to stick or bind.
