June 11, 200817 yr i have an 87 dl. it has push button 4wd. and lately the 4wd hasn't been engaging. what all could cause this? it used to work all the time.
June 11, 200817 yr the system works by using the switch (button) to open a solenoid that lets vacuum move the lever on the transmission. the first thing I would check is the vacuum lines to that area! this has been covered a bit and a search will net you more info!
June 11, 200817 yr Author yeah i searched for a little before i posted, then after i searched more and found what i needed. one of the vacuum connections is broken. thanks for the help
