September 15, 200817 yr Is there a difference in fit between a muffler made for a Legacy GT Wagon and a Legacy Outback Wagon? I need to replace my muffler and there's not many around for the OBW. Thanks in advance.
September 15, 200817 yr What year Subaru? For the 05+ it's mainly because of the rear bumper and the Outback not having any cutouts for the tips. You can buy a JDM Outback bumper which has the cutouts or cut your stock bumper and buy the generic trim pieces which look pretty good to finish it off.
September 16, 200817 yr Author It's a 97 Legacy OBW that I have and the only SPT muffler listed is for Legacy GT Wagons. I have a pretty big opening (stock) in my bumper cover.
September 16, 200817 yr Why not use a Magnaflow muffler or something similar and save yourself some money?
September 26, 200817 yr Author Mainly looking for the bolt-on convenience. There's not that big a price difference between the stock & SPT mufflers, if they'll both fit.
