i own a 97 impreza ob sport with approx. 144k miles. lately in the cold weather while driving the engine seems to sputter or hesitate for a few seconds like i'm not getting fuel through my system. i was thinking it was maybe water in my gas? i have used winter fuel system cleaner and dry gas on several occasions but the problem is that it only hesitates on sporatic occasions. i have fairly new plugs, wires, ait filter and would like some fresh opinions. thanks...

Fuel filter. 60k mile interval.

 

It's a high pressure filter, so I would recommend OE, and relieving the system pressure before disconnecting the hoses.

Try some injector cleaner, has worked for me.
