2000 forester wiper question

Featured Replies

On my 2000 Forester at the windshield end of the wiper arms there is a rubber cap which covers a bolt. Both caps have lost their elasticity and are just sitting there ready to fall off. :eek:

Questions:

What is the part number of these caps?

Does anyone have any extras that I can purchase ?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Instead of replacing them I think applying a small dab of silicone will work to keep them in place and seal the area.

PS: How is the clock doing?

That's not a bad idea. I have some Form A Gasket Stuff around here somewhere. I'm sending my wife to the local Subie dealer on Tuesday to see about new parts. She has to be around that area anyway. I'm not going to drive myself nutz finding these parts.

I thought about going to a junk yard. But everytime I go to one they never have what I need and never offer to locate the part for me.

The clock ? IT'S STILL RUNNING A-OK ! :grin::grin:

Just a little 'smidge' of silicone around the rim of the cover should work well to seal the spot and if you needed to get back in there it wouldn't be a real mess. Silicone is pretty amazing stuff.

Glad to hear the clock is still working ok. I think you are still covered by our extended warranty program if something does happen. ;)

My wife managed to pick up one of the caps and ordered another from the dealer. No biggie cost wise. Under $4.00 for the two with tax.
