1993 Loyale wagon, 4wd, 5spd.

 

Transmission sounds (to me) really loud in first and second gear. Clutch is new(er) and it shifts cleanly. Of course, 1st gear doesn't always sync smoothly, but no other complaints.

 

My question is, is it normal for a loyale to have a pretty loud growl to it in first gear? Is it just geared really low on purpose and the noise is nothing to worry about?
