howards11
Does anyone have an idea on how to add an intermittent wiper to the REAR wiper of a 2000 Forester L ? The rear window hardly ever gets wet enough for constant use of the wiper and I have to keep shutting it off and on by hand. Thanks in advance for your help. ~Howard
BruceyWV
I know the mechanisms are actually in the wiper assembly on mine, as its just a matter of swapping stalks to go from 3 speed wipers to intermittent. If you can find a wiper assembly from a similar forester with rear intermittent, it SHOULD be a simple swap in.

I swapped out the control for the front which has the has the switch for the intermittent rear. The front now has variable intermittent but it did NOTHING for the rear. I think it's missing the electronics for the rear intermittent. ~Howard
kami333
I have a Forester stalk with the rear intermittent position on my Impreza but it doesn't work either. From what I've read, cars with rear int have additional wiring and a relay, and they aren't easy to add. link to NASIOC thread, they talk about rear int near the bottom
