  1. It's for the cruise control. You might have an aftermarket one, so the knob for the cruise control had to be reattached to the steering column? If so, it's probably a universal aftermarket, the OEM one sticks out from the steering wheel at about the 4oclock position and to attach/remove you have to take out the drivers airbag.
  2. 06-07 WRX TD04s supposedly have 5psi wastegates, also people have swapped out the stock wastegate actuator for a GL-10 one link Have fun, I had a 93 Imp that I was going to turbo, I had everything for it including a Leg-T crossmember, up/down pipes, and Greddy eManage but ended up having to sell it when I got a killer deal on a RS and my gf wouldn't let me have 3 Subarus.
  3. I had my old Subaru pass inspection in PA with a spacer, once it gets dirty you can't tell. Both of my current Subarus have P0420s fixed with spacers.
  4. Probably a 18mm or 20mm from a WRX, RS had the same 13mm as OBS. Some of us on SLCsubaru are into off-road, I had a 93 Imp wagon lifted with For struts/springs until Jan.
  5. Just wanted to add another data point. 93 Impreza wagon, 195k miles, trans flushed last summer. Delayed forward/reverse engagement (only for about 2 seconds), hard shift between 2-3, and pretty severe torque bind (went away with FWD fuse). I added Trans-X about a month ago, drove around for a few miles but had to go out of town so didn't get a chance to really drive it until last week. Have to say I'm impressed, it seems to have gotten rid of all the problems.
  6. I towed my "new" Impreza that way, I also took off the protector and used some rope and zip ties to hold it out of the way even more.
  7. Nope, rear one is just for monitoring the cat(s). Messing with the front one will affect fuel/air ratio, etc.
  8. Hella Supertones Huge difference. Though they are pretty directional so they are not as loud when you aren't directly in front of the car.
  9. I do have extra axels, even a rear LSD that I was planning on putting on my 00 L wagon. What's a blue wrench? No truck, just a 93 and 00 Impreza wagons, once I get this RS home I'll have 3 Imprezas, and will have owned 7:) I could ask the former owner to drag it out to the road with his tractor but while it's a country road it's still a fairly busy state highway so I don't know if I'd want to be working on the shoulder. Isn't the driveshaft held to the rear diff with 4bolts, and you have to be able to rotate it to get all of them? I didn't spend too much time looking but I don't know if I can rotate it at all. Engine won't start at all, just kind of turns and grinds like it stalls immedidately. So I guess as long as I can get it off, just getting it on a flatbed would be the quickest/safest way to go and deal with it at home. Any idea what would be a fair price to offer, would be about 100miles/4hours round trip? (I figure I'll try advertising on craigslist first)
  10. I just bought a 2000 RS but it's currently non-drivable since the transmission is "seized" up in 2nd gear and the clutch doesn't seem to do anything, can't even start the engine. The car is still on the former owner's ranch (maybe 1/4mile up a dirt road) and I need to figure out a way to get it back to my city 100miles away. Any thoughts if I can get it rolling at least so it will be easier to load/unload from a trailer? It's also sitting on the side of a grass/mud hill right now so I don't now if I could actually jack it up or not. Maybe I could remove the axels one side at a time?
  11. Should be a black thing, like a brake booster, on the passenger side strut tower. No?
  12. Legacy wagon rears (I think 95-99?) will fit in an Impreza wagon, seen a couple threads where people have done it. All fronts can interchange. You can swap the passenger side seat rails on 02-03 Impreza seats to get rid of the extra height. My 00L Impreza wagon has 02 WRX wagon front and rears, the rears aren't a 100% fit but I modified that brackets so that they can fold down. Much better than the old, I just need to work on swapping out the tan seatbelts.
  13. Nice! Was it more than a 93-99? I've seen the top spoiler go for $50-100 and the mid-waist go for $50-150. I got a top at the junkyard and a replica STi mid waist that I need to paint and install.
  14. I think it was an option in 1999 (my old OBS didn't have one and was thinking about adding one), then standard in 00-01.
