If the tach was bouncing around that is a 1st warning sign of distributor failure. You might need a new disty my friend :-\

Thanks, It did this before and after Disty replacment. Bad wiring causing faults in the disty?

Did you replace it with a new(rebuilt) or junkyard piece?

The disty is new, but it feels really really hot too touch, ive never noticed this before is this normal?

Better check it for shaft play, if the shaft wiggles around then its bad. if not, just check all the wires and plug connectors. I know its not anywhere close to your situation, but my Turbo wagon had a similar problem where it would run great then just die for no reason. Turned out 2 of the engine control harness plugs werent completely fastened and would work loose while driving.

hmmm, interesting.

 

I cant get around to this until Saturday now, damm work..

Did you check the fuel filter, pump and system? Does it fire right up with starter fluid? Just a thought.

Fires right up very easily actually. With a new Starter, and wire its actually quite amazing i think i have a bad alt and failing battery aswell....

So does this make sense?

 

I was able to limp the car home, it was outta gas so i went to the pumps, i was going to tune her up a bit so i ran premium from an empty tank, NO MORE HESITATION OR NOTHING!

 

It running better than ever, and i changed all the oils! NOw my battery is toast...
